GIBBON North America – Head of International Sales
Founded in 2007, GIBBON is the world leader in slackline products and innovation. From Super Bowl halftime shows to Cirque du Soleil performances, GIBBON’s products have helped produce some of the best balance athletes in the world. GIBBON North America holds the exclusive license to sell GIBBON products throughout North America and several international territories. The company has been growing exponentially since launching the GIBBON SlackBoard, the most dynamic and versatile balance training tool on the market.
Since 2023, we have sold more than 150,000 SlackBoards. We grew SlackBoard sales more than 4X year over year in 2024, from $3 million in 2023 to more than $14 million in 2024. We are on pace to at least double SlackBoard sales this year to more than $30 million in the U.S. alone. Our success in scaling the GIBBON brand has enabled us to secure the exclusive license to GIBBON products in eight new international markets: the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Brazil. We are now putting together the team that will bring our marketing and sales efforts to these new territories.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Head of International Sales to be the driving force behind our international sales strategy and execution. This person will be responsible for all aspects of our efforts outside of the USA, including coordinating with our production facilities located in Hungary, China and Mexico, as well as driving the marketing efforts in our new territories to generate sales and build scale. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in leading the international business of consumer products brands that sell primarily direct to consumer but also through commercial channels (physical therapy, sports performance, fitness, and schools).
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Marketing:
- Develop a comprehensive international sales and marketing strategy for our new territories, including our direct to consumer and commercial sales efforts.
- Oversee the execution of the strategy in each market.
- Ensure the brand and products are positioned appropriately across all markets and channels.
- Leadership:
- Recruit, hire and train internal and external resources to support each region and territory.
- Motivate the team to achieve the company goals.
- Work across the organization to secure the resources necessary for success internationally and to support other areas of effort within the business.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional leadership skills built on a philosophy distilled from more than a decade of leading teams.
- 10+ years of experience in international sales, with a focus on direct-to-consumer sales of sports and active lifestyle products.
- Demonstrable success in the art of marketing and a fluency with the science of marketing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on results.
