ZELL AM SEE-KAPRUN, Austria / TAMPA, Fla. (19 August 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/– On Sunday 31 August over 100 professional athletes from around the world will approach the start line for the 2025 IRONMAN® 70.3® Zell am See-Kaprun triathlon, the final stop of the IRONMAN Pro Series™ before the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship® men’s race in Nice, France. The event will offer a maximum of 2,500 points towards the IRONMAN® Pro Series standings, a $50,000 USD event total pro prize purse, and two slots per gender for the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon taking place in Nice, France.

The event can be viewed live in person and will be broadcast across multiple platforms for viewers around the world, including proseries.ironman.com, Outside TV in the US and Canada, DAZN, L’Equipe in France, and ESPN (within Disney+) in Latin American and the Caribbean.

The IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun triathlon features one of the largest professional fields for a 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 Series event outside of European and World Championship races. The women’s field does not disappoint, with Kat Matthews (GBR), wearing bib no.1, hot off the heels of her IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea event win last month. Matthews has had a consistently strong season with victory at the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship triathlon and second at the Qatar Airways IRONMAN Hamburg European Championship race. Those podiums currently place Matthews second in the 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series rankings.

Also in the running will be Anne Reischmann (DEU), who has had a stellar season, including one win at the ISUZU IRONMAN South Africa African Championship. That victory alongside three additional top five placings have landed Reischmann at third in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings. Expect fellow German compatriots Laura Jansen, Henrike Güber, Daniela Kleiser, and Lena Meißner to also feature at the pointy end of the race.

One athlete to not be underestimated is Norwegian powerhouse Solveig Løvseth (NOR) with two wins this season already, most recently taking victory at the Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid race, and setting an impressive time for her first ever IRONMAN triathlon in Hamburg at the Women’s European Championship a month earlier. Løvseth will be one to watch.

Eyes will also be on local interest, Austrian mid-distance expert Lisa Perterer (AUT), who most recently placed second at the Athletic Brewing IRONMAN Lake Placid triathlon. Other names to note include Lotte Wilms (NLD), who finished third overall in the 2024 IRONMAN Pro Series, and Rebecca Clarke (NZL), one of the best swimmers in the sport.

Over in the men’s field, the start list shows a strong German contingent will be lining up on race day, with Jonas Hoffmann (DEU) representing a notable challenge to his rivals after securing three top five finishes this year. Other Germans to watch include Dominik Sowieja and Fabian Kraft.

Australian duo Cameron Wurf and Nick Thompson will bring added dynamism to the race. Thompson claimed second place at the Cairns Airport IRONMAN Cairns event, while Wurf has consistently finished in the top ten this season, currently sitting sixth in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings.

Great Britain’s Andrew Horsfall-Turner (GBR) and Cameron Main (GBR) will also be toeing the line on Sunday. A specialist in short and middle-distance races, Main has already claimed a podium finish this season at the IRONMAN 70.3 Venice-Jesolo triathlon and is expected to be a strong contender.
