February 4, 2026

- PTO and Sport Singapore add Olympic & Sprint distance triathlons and a Youth Aquathlon and 5km Music Run to 2025 event schedule
- Amateur participation at event grew by 40% in 2025 versus 2024
Singapore (February 4, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – More events and increasing participation all point to the Singapore T100 Triathlon on 25-26 April, 2026, being the ‘biggest and best yet’, according to PTO CEO Sam Renouf.
The PTO and its event partner, Sport Singapore, have announced that for the first time Olympic (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run) and Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) distance triathlons will be included on the event schedule for amateurs, along with a new Youth Aquathlon (400m swim & 3km run for 14-18 year olds) and the return of the 5km Music Run.
The swim for the three new triathlon events will take place in the iconic Marina Bay and their bike courses will take athletes around the heart of the financial district and over Sheares Bridge – and run around Marina Bay.
These new events join the standard (5km run 32km swim, 5km run) and long distance (9.5km run, 64km bike, 9.5km run) duathlons and the 100km distance triathlon – with its expanded swim capacity – which are already on sale and selling fast. It means the fourth edition of the event will be the biggest the PTO has staged in Singapore since it introduced the city centre swim, bike and run event in 2023.
“Our first event in Singapore in 2023 was in many ways the prototype which helped us develop the original T100 Triathlon World Tour that is now in 10 cities around the world,” explained Sam Renouf, the CEO of the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO). “In Singapore, the T100 weekend goes from strength to strength and 2026 is set to be our biggest and best yet. We are excited for the support from the authorities that will see an increased swim capacity in Marina Bay for amateurs. It’s also very encouraging to be able to talk about a 40% year-on-year increase in participants across all events and we hope that our addition of the Youth Aquathlon will further encourage athletes of all abilities to get involved from a young age.”
Sport Singapore’s national sports participation survey from 2023 and 2024 shows encouraging progress towards its mission to transform the nation through sports and build a healthier, more united community by offering inclusive, meaningful sporting experiences for everyone.
Across 2023 and 2024, the National Sport & Exercise Participation Survey[1] conducted by Sport Singapore showed that the three disciplines of a triathlon – swimming, running and cycling – have consistently ranked among Singapore’s top ten most participated sports. With the three sports collectively attracting more than one million Singapore residents during each of 2023 and 2024 and demonstrating their widespread appeal and growth.
Daryl Yeo, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Development) from Sport Singapore said: “Sport Singapore is proud to be partnering with the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) to introduce innovative race formats that will enhance the profile of triathlon. The Singapore T100 Triathlon weekend has established itself as a key sporting event where world-class competition meets grassroots participation. Our National Sport & Exercise Participation Survey reflects the community’s sustained interest in the three disciplines of triathlon, with swimming, cycling and running consistently featuring within the top 10 most participated sports. With new race categories this year, spectators will witness Team Singapore triathletes racing alongside the best in the field and gaining valuable race experience on home ground.”
2025 saw the event grow to more than 7,000 participants. To find out more or register for any of the events at the 2026 Singapore T100 Triathlon weekend visit: https://t100triathlon.com/singapore/participate/
