Felix Forissier, Marta Menditto Win World Cup Stop 5 in Quebec

July 14, 2025

LAC DELAGE, QUEBEC /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The 8th edition of XTERRA Quebec, and its second consecutive year as a World Cup stop, marked round five of the 2025 pro series this weekend. Elites raced for $15,000 and tightly contested series points, while age groupers chased 58 World Championship slots and youth athletes competed for 30 Youth World Championship spots. All trails lead to Trentino, Italy in September for the season’s finales, but this weekend, Quebec answered the call.

In the Full Distance Triathlon, Felix Forissier (FRA) and Marta Menditto (ITA) claimed Elite victories on a course designed for speed and skill — with a 1.5K swim, 31K of fast singletrack, and an 11K trail run. Among the age groupers, Lucas Wright (USA) and Ariane Carrier (CAN) led the field, with Wright calling the bike course “super fun, a little hillier than I’m used to” and Carrier praising Quebec as “perfect for a weekend with family.”

The XTERRA Youth Tour brought standout performances from Quebec’s rising stars. Leo Cantin (CAN, 13) won his first-ever XTERRA in the Youth A Super Sprint and called it “a really good race, but more technical than I expected.” Dahlia Fillion (CAN, 15) continued her unbeaten streak, winning her third straight event this season and saying, “I feel very proud of myself. I gave all I could give.”

On the men’s World Cup leaderboard, Felix Forissier’s win in 2:31:17 brings him within striking distance of his brother Arthur in first with Italy’s Michele Bonacina one point ahead in second. “I’m happy to take the win today and I’ll try to take the lead in the next two races,” Felix shared. On the women’s side, Marta Menditto earned her first World Cup victory in 2:59:33, moving closer to series leader Alizée Paties and reflecting, “It’s my first time winning a World Cup, so I will remember it.”
