Escape to Anywhere: Introducing the OBED MMR
August 7, 2025

Wide tire clearance, suspension options & downtube storage herald OBED's new go-anywhere, do-anything gravel ride
Chattanooga, TN (August 7, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Your definition of the perfect ride could take you…well, anywhere. That requires a bike ready to get you there. For the rider who finds fun on the most remote, rugged, and unknown roads, OBED Bicycles debuts the MMR.
The MMR is named for the “Minimum Maintenance Road” signs that off-grid riders become so familiar with. These are often roads only in name; from broken pavement to chunky fireroads to overgrown singletrack to impassable mud, these routes can thrash both rider and bike. But go far enough, and you’ll discover places with beauty you never knew existed, and experiences that you’ll never forget. This is where adventure lives—and where the MMR thrives.
With ample clearance for 2.25” (57mm) tires, the MMR leads the gravel vanguard by fitting wider tires than most, opening it up to more roads and more possibilities. Add comfort, control, and capability with suspension-corrected geometry, optionally fitted with the latest Cane Creek Invert CS or Fox Factory Taper-Cast gravel suspension forks. Get rowdy with an optional Fox Transfer SL dropper post. Support big expeditions with burly frame and fork mounts. Keep going with reliable standards like a UDH dropout and a threaded T47 outboard bottom bracket.
Integrated storage is also a key feature of the MMR, with a voluminous downtube storage bay for stashing extra gear. This bay is accessed through a rugged door on the underside that doubles as a protective bash guard and keeps the storage bay easily accessible with frame bags. Extending the full length of the downtube, the storage bay is the ideal place to stash jackets, extra gear, extra nutrition, spare tubes, water filtration kits, and more. A flexible liner keeps things from rattling on rough roads, and is easily removable for cleaning.
The MMR’s downtube storage bay can also be filled with OBED’s Essentials Tool Roll Bag. The adventure-ready Essentials roll ($35) can be had complete with several of Prestacycle’s best bailout tools, including the T-Ratchet Pro with nine key bits, a Prestaflator CO2 tool, tubeless plug kit with needle, Prestadapter, valve core remover and tire lever. The Essentials Tool Roll, including tools, is $99.
The MMR ecosystem also features the optional OBED Adventure Top Tube Bag ($69) and Adventure Frame Bag ($89). Each Velcro-free frame-mounted bag—engineered for quick access to small items, nutrition and more—is comprised of TPU-coated 600-denier nylon with simple zippered enclosures, and pull tabs for accessibility if stored within the MMR downtube port. The OBED Adventure Bag Bundle (top tube bag and frame bag) is $139.
As with all OBED bikes, the MMR models deliver extensive customization options, including selectable bar width, crank length, and stem size options, along with a wide range of paint and graphic choices for true personalization capability, including an exclusive throwback-inspired Basalt-themed two-tone colorway.
Initially offered in four sizes (XS, S, M, & L), the MMR is available with a wide range of Shimano and SRAM XPLR component options from $3,499. The MMR can be purchased directly from obedbikes.com, and is available for riders worldwide. More detail on the MMR can be found at its product page at: https://obedbikes.com/collections/mmr
