Diplo’s Run Club Makes High-Energy Debut in Philadelphia

Thousands run, sweat, and celebrate at FDR Park in fitness-meets-festival 5K and Daytime Dance Party

PHILADELPHIA (July 28, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Three-time Grammy Award winner Diplo returned to his adopted hometown of Philadelphia this weekend to kick off the 2025–2026 season of Diplo’s Run Club. And if the energy at FDR Park was any indication, runners across the U.S. should prepare for a 5K experience unlike any other.

More than 6,000 runners laced up for the 3.1-mile event, which looped through scenic tree-lined paths and around tranquil lakes, before finishing in front of a full festival stage. Diplo, a Temple University alum and lifelong Eagles fan, ran the 5K alongside celebrity friends like DJ A-Trak and Major Lazor’s America Foster & Walshy Fire, then quickly traded his Altra running shoes for turntables to headline a post-race dance party.

“It felt great to run alongside 6,000 other people,” said Diplo. “This race is for everyone. Some ran it in 15 minutes, others strolled, and that’s the point. It’s about coming together for fitness, music, community. If you like any of those things, this event is for you.”

Runners of all abilities – from seasoned club members to first-time 5K participants – embraced the unique atmosphere. With foot massages, ice baths, local vendors, and recovery drinks on site, many finishers called it “the most fun race I’ve ever been to.”

After A-Trak warmed up the crowd with a high-octane DJ set, Diplo hit the stage at 10 a.m. for a one-of-a-kind performance that had sweaty runners dancing in their race medals and recovery slides, a custom collab with Kane Footwear.

“This was our first one and it’s only going to get bigger,” added Diplo. “You see the party, the camaraderie, and you’re going to get addicted to it.”

The tour will continue this fall with stops in San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, San Diego and Phoenix.
