September 26, 2025

1,500 Registrations Secured Seven Weeks Before Race Day – Fifth Consecutive Year of Sold-Out Success

BOSTON, MA /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Department of Massachusetts and TRACS, Inc. are proud to announce that the 10th Annual DAV 5K Boston, presented by Veterans Development Corporation, has officially sold out all 1,500 registrations in record-breaking time – seven weeks ahead of race day on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

This milestone marks the fifth consecutive sell-out for the DAV 5K Boston, reflecting the growing enthusiasm, momentum, and deep community support for the event on Veterans Day Weekend. Among this year’s participants, 425 are veterans (28%), underscoring the race’s mission to honor those who served while raising critical funds and awareness for Disabled American Veterans in Massachusetts.

Honoring Veterans Through Community and Tradition

The DAV 5K Boston continues to stand out as one of the city’s signature Veterans Day traditions. Highlights include the iconic howitzer blast that signals the start of the race, a flat and scenic 5K course along Boston Harbor at Castle Island, race medals featuring the outline of DCR Fort Independence and the famous post-race feast where veterans, families, and supporters come together to celebrate.

Community-Powered Success

“We are honored to announce that the DAV 5K Boston has sold out for the fifth consecutive year,” said Dan Stack, CEO of the DAV Department of Massachusetts. “Each fall, the Greater Boston community gathers at DCR Fort Independence to recognize and celebrate veterans from across the Commonwealth. The event has become a signature tradition in Boston, reflecting both the enduring support for our veterans and the record demand for this meaningful occasion.”

“This achievement is powered by our community: veterans, families, participants, volunteers, spectators, sponsors, race committee, and media partners,” said Fred Treseler, CEO of TRACS and Race Director of the DAV 5K Boston. “The energy, pride, and gratitude surrounding the DAV 5K Boston are unmatched. It’s more than a race – it’s a movement, a true Boston classic, and the perfect family day out.”

Technology & Partnership Drive the Experience

A key factor in this year’s success is the continued partnership with RunSignup, the DAV 5K Boston’s registration partner. RunSignup’s industry-leading technology and attentive support enable TRACS to deliver a seamless registration process, volunteer recruitment, AI chatbot customer support, and enhanced participant engagement.

“RunSignup has helped the DAV 5K Boston fulfill its potential by combining best-in-class registration tools with powerful marketing integrations,” noted Freddie Treseler, Vice President at TRACS. “Their platform empowers us to meet participants where they are: online, on course, and in the community. Just as importantly, RunSignup’s participant insights gave us a deeper understanding of our veteran and runner communities, helping us tailor communications and engagement in ways that unlocked record-breaking demand. That technology-driven connection is a key reason why the 2025 race sold out faster than ever before.”

A Growing Tradition of Early Sell-Outs

The DAV 5K Boston has consistently sold out earlier each year, demonstrating its rising popularity and the unwavering commitment of the community:

  • September 21, 2025
  • October 18, 2024
  • October 29, 2023
  • October 27, 2022
  • November 3, 2021

This trend highlights the dedication of participants who return year after year to celebrate and support Massachusetts veterans at DCR Fort Independence at Castle Island. In 2025, 49% of all registrations came from repeat participants, underscoring the deep sense of loyalty and tradition that has grown around the event. Their continued involvement not only fuels the momentum of early sell-outs but also strengthens the fabric of the community that rallies behind this cause.
