September 2, 2025

CARMEL, Ind. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Sunshine, smiles and fast times were abundant as Indiana Women’s Running Festival kicked off Labor Day Weekend in Carmel, Ind. Ladies participated in three different race distances, the half marathon, 10K and the Get a MOVE on Cancer 5K, competing for the $4,600 in total purse money. As the only women’s half marathon in the United States that pays a top-20 cash purse, the event attracted nearly 20 elite runners. The field of almost 1,100 finishers included women from 31 states.

Lucy Dobbs, 3rd place finisher in 2024, returned for the win in the half-marathon in a time of 1:16:26. The race delivered excitement, with the lead pack of five runners together through mile 7. At the stripe, the top-5 finished just 90 seconds apart! Five different states were represented in the top 10 alone. What stood out beyond the competition was the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Finishers from all events cheered one another across the finish line and gathered in celebration—a reflection of the empowering culture that defines the festival. Women supporting, uplifting and inspiring each other through sport.

The race also attracted some of the local elite runners. Abby Warth of Indianapolis, the 2024 10K Champion returned to keep the 10K Title and besting her 2024 time by 24 seconds with a time of 38:25. It was quite a battle in the Get a Move on Cancer 5K where 13-year-old Aliyah Yorek outstrided 11-year-old Sterling Howard for a 1.5 second win.
