August 26, 2025 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – This weekend, Challenge Fortaleza will showcase triathlon at its best on Brazil’s stunning northeast coast. The professional field features a strong Brazilian presence, alongside international talent, promising competitive racing for both men and women.
In the women’s race, all eyes will be on local favourite and Olympian, Vittoria Lopes (BRA), who lines up for her first-ever Challenge Family race. Lopes brings world-class experience, including a middle-distance podium in 2024, and will be a top contender. She will be joined by Pietra Meneghini (BRA), third at Challenge Florianópolis last year and a consistent podium performer this season, as well as Raquel Mafra Rocha (POR), who finished sixth at Challenge Vieux Boucau in 2023 and is looking to make her mark after a quiet racing year.
The men’s field also promises exciting racing, led by Igor Amorelli (BRA), winner of Challenge Salvador in 2019 and with several middle-distance podiums in recent seasons. He will face strong competition from Danilo Pimentel (BRA), runner-up at Challenge Florianópolis last year and proven across both short and long distances, and also joining the charge, rising talent Enzo Krauss (BRA), with fifth place at Challenge Florianópolis in his first professional season.
Set against Fortaleza’s vibrant urban backdrop and Fortaleza Main Beach, the race offers athletes a challenging and scenic course, with a 1.9km swim in the Atlantic Ocean, a 90km bike on fast, coastal roads, and a 21.1km run through the heart of the city.
Challenge Fortaleza takes place on Sunday, 31 August, with the professional men starting at 5:30 am local time, followed by the professional women. Live timing will be available at www.challenge-family.live.
