August 7, 2026

Amazon’s Continued Support Provides Free Registration for Children Participating in the Splash & Dash and Fun Run

BOSTON, MA – August 7, 2026 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – ethos, the mass participation event organization behind the Boston Triathlon, today announced the return of Amazon as the Official Community Partner of the 12th annual Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon.

With Amazon’s support, registration will once again be free for every child participating in Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon, which will take place Saturday, August 22, at DCR’s Carson Beach in South Boston. The event will open the two day Boston Triathlon weekend, followed by Olympic- and sprint-distance triathlons and relay competitions on Sunday, August 23.

“Amazon’s support has helped Kids Day at the Boston Tri grow into a welcoming celebration where children of all backgrounds and experience levels can experience the confidence, excitement, and sense of accomplishment that come from being active,” said Michael O’Neil, president of the Boston Triathlon. “Reaching the fifth year of this partnership is especially meaningful because it reflects Amazon’s long term commitment to Boston’s young people and families. By keeping registration free, we can continue removing barriers, introducing more children to swimming and running, and helping them build confidence along the way.”

Created to promote healthy activity and introduce children to multisport competition in a supportive environment, Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon features the USA Triathlon-sanctioned Kids Splash & Dash for athletes ages 7 to 15, along with a Kids Fun Run for children under age 7. Youth organizations and families from Boston, throughout Massachusetts, and across New England are encouraged to participate.

“For five years, Amazon has been proud to work alongside the Boston Triathlon to make Kids Day accessible to children and families throughout the community,” said Jerome Smith, Head of Community Affairs Engagement for the New England Region at Amazon. “Sports can help young people build confidence, develop healthy habits and feel connected to something larger than themselves. We are excited to continue this partnership and help create an experience where every child has the opportunity to participate and have fun.”

Kids Day at the Boston Triathlon participants will have the opportunity to swim and run along Boston’s waterfront in an event designed specifically for young athletes. The day will also feature family-friendly activities and a post event celebration for participants and their families.

Boston Triathlon weekend brings together first-time participants, experienced competitors, and families for two days of racing and community programming. Sunday’s events will include Olympic- and sprint-distance individual races and relay competitions, featuring swimming at DCR’s Carson Beach, cycling along William J. Day Boulevard, and running along the South Boston waterfront.
