RunSignup Launches New Announcer Mode in RaceDay Mobile App

April 15, 2026

Enhancing Live Event Experiences for Spectators and Participants

MOORESTOWN, NJ – April 15, 2026 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – RunSignup, the leading provider of registration and technology for endurance events in the United States, announces the launch of its Announcer Mode within the RaceDay Mobile App. This new feature delivers a continuous stream of participant data to an announcer’s mobile device or tablet, providing the information necessary to identify runners real-time and provide informed commentary as they cross split points on the course or the finish line.

The RaceDay Mobile App, previously known as the RaceDay Mobile Timing App, is a versatile field tool used by both race organizers and timers for manual and backup timing and automated photo capturing. The addition of Announcer Mode expands the app’s utility to support announcers by delivering instant information about participants as they progress through the race.

“The RaceDay Mobile App is a staple for timers managing logistics on the ground,” said James Harris, RunSignup’s EventDay Chief Technology Officer. “By adding Announcer Mode, we’re providing a functional tool for the person on the mic. It takes the live timing data we already capture and puts it into a mobile format that allows announcers to move freely while staying informed.”

The announcer provides an essential source of energy, encouragement and engagement at endurance events. To encourage and celebrate participants’ achievements at a high-volume finish line or split point, they require immediate, mobile access to participant data. The new Announcer Mode offers a synchronized, mobile interface to support announcers ability to deliver engagement with both participants and spectators.

The “Digital Cue Card” for Race Day

Announcer Mode gives announcers a clear, real-time view of the field. As participants pass timing equipment, the app populates with:

  • Identification: Name, bib number, age, gender, and hometown.
  • Event Context: Team/Club names, corporate affiliations, and charity designations.
  • Custom Insights: Answers to custom registration questions, such as “First-time marathoner” or “Running in honor of…”

Optimized Viewing Formats

The interface is designed for high-traffic environments, allowing announcers to toggle between views based on the density of the race:

  • Card-at-a-Time View: Displays a single, large-format card for clear visibility of individual runners.
  • Batch View: Shows participants in groups of five or ten, allowing announcers to prepare for clusters of finishers.
  • Table View: A scrollable list for a high-level overview of recent and upcoming traffic.
  • Manual Bib Look-up: Includes a search function to instantly pull up a specific participant’s profile for unplanned interviews or specific recognition.

Technical Integration

The new Announcer Mode is powered by a direct integration with RaceDay Scoring. As timing data is captured, it is pushed instantly to the RaceDay Mobile App. This ensures the announcer is working with live data, eliminating the lag associated with manual exports or web-based results refreshes.

The RaceDay Mobile App is available now for download on iOS and Android.
