Michelob Ultra GFNY Miami held this Sunday on fully closed highway
April 16, 2026

The third edition now held on traffic free roads and with an added 5k run race
April 16, 2026 /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – This Sunday, the 3rd edition of the Michelob ULTRA GFNY Miami will welcome cyclists and runners to a one-of-a-kind race experience on fully closed roads in Miami. All four lanes of Krome Avenue—both northbound and southbound—will be completely closed to traffic, offering GFNY participants a rare opportunity to race on a wide-open, uninterrupted course designed for speed and safety.
“After three years of work, we’ve secured a full road closure—and that changes everything,” said GFNY President Lidia Fluhme. “A four-lane highway dedicated entirely to GFNY riders is as good as it gets in Miami, one of the hardest cities in the world to close roads. That’s why GFNY stands alone as the only mass participation cycling race here. We’re leveraging this unique setup by expanding the event with a 5K run.”
The brand new Michelob ULTRA GFNY Miami 5K run begins at 6:30 AM, heading north for 2.5 km before a turnaround and returning south for a flat and fast 5 km race in the cooler early morning hours.
Cyclists will take on the flattest course in the GFNY World circuit, with an average elevation of just 6 feet. Riders head north for 13 miles before turning back south. Medium distance participants will complete one 26-mile loop, while long distance racers will continue onto a second loop for a total of 52 miles (84 km).
Multi-sport athletes can take on the GFNY Miami Double by completing both the 5K run and the cycling race on the same day. Participants must complete the run in under 30 minutes and start the cycling race between 7:00 and 7:10 AM. Completing both events earns two finishes toward the GFNY 3×2026 medal.
All race weekend activities—including packet pickup, race start, post-race party, and awards ceremony—will once again take place at Miccosukee Casino & Resort, providing athletes with a convenient, all-in-one race venue.
In the lead-up to race day, participants can join three group rides on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. These fun, social rides will depart from Key Biscayne Toll Plaza and Miccosukee Resort & Casino, giving riders the opportunity to connect with fellow participants, explore scenic routes, and prepare for race day.
The race starts and finishes at the Raccoon Lot of the Miccosukee Casino & Resort, where participants will line up in start corrals before heading out onto Krome Avenue.
