Denver Colfax Marathon Charity Program Reaches New Heights in 2025 with its Unique $150,000 Charity Prize Pool
July 1, 2025

Denver, CO (July 1, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – The Denver Colfax Marathon is proud to contribute more than ever before to local nonprofits through its one-of-a-kind charity program which has yielded over $10 million to local charities through the years. The marathon’s unique fundraising platform allows charities to win money from a specialized charity focused prize pool of $150,000, while also offering each organization the opportunity to raise money for their cause.
The marathon’s ‘Charity Partners Program’, sponsored by Walker and Dunlop, gives nonprofits a free platform to raise money and awareness for their cause throughout the Denver Colfax Marathon race season. This year, the marathon partnered with 140 nonprofits.
In addition to traditional fundraising, the program allows charities to host a tent at the race’s Finish Line Festival, with 65,000 attendees. This allows each charity to attract new donors and funds. The platform also gives them the opportunity to receive award money from a $150,000 charity focused prize pool. Marathon relay teams compete for upwards of $2500 that they can award to a local nonprofit from the prize pool. This year, the marathon awarded 80 checks to charities at its annual awards ceremony in June.
The Denver Colfax Marathon has the largest marathon relay in the county. There are 4 divisions within the marathon relay: Open, Corporate (employee teams), Government (employee teams) and Public School Teachers (teachers and employees). The marathon had more participants running for charity than ever before in its 2025 race, allowing its already successful Chairty Partners Program to keep growing.
“Our program has a direct impact on the Colorado community each year,” said Andrea Dowdy, CEO of the Denver Colfax Marathon. “Offering charities multiple
ways to raise and earn funds for their causes provides each charity several ways to be successful. We are so proud to help elevate their cause through our mission.”
The Denver Colfax Marathon is a nonprofit itself (501c3), with a tradition of giving back every year. More than 25,000 people participated in the Denver Colfax Marathon race weekend in May, making it the biggest running event in the marathon’s history once again.
