Toulouse Returns to Supertri League Calendar with New Mass Participation Event for 2025

May 14, 2025

LONDON, UK (May 14, 2025) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Supertri is delighted to confirm that Toulouse will once again host a Supertri League race in 2025, marking the city’s fourth consecutive appearance in the global series. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the iconic ‘Pink City’, the event has become a firm favourite among both athletes and fans — and this year promises to be the biggest yet.

The Toulouse Triathlon By Supertri mass participation race will take place on the morning of Sunday 5th October, with the Supertri League race following in the afternoon. Both events will be staged on similar high-impact city centre courses, delivering a full day of racing, community, and celebration. This announcement follows the launch of the Chicago League event as the second in the series to be revealed with more coming soon.

For the first time, the Toulouse event will feature a mass participation race alongside the elite competition, offering the chance for athletes of all levels to take part. From complete beginners to seasoned amateurs, participants will have the unique opportunity to race on a similar course to the world’s best professional triathletes, in the heart of the city and in front of packed crowds.

Supertri co-founder and CEO Michael D’hulst said: “Toulouse has consistently delivered world-class racing, enthusiastic crowds, and meaningful community impact. The addition of the Toulouse Triathlon By Supertri is a natural next step, giving more people the chance to be part of this extraordinary experience. It’s about opening the sport up and celebrating what it can do for people and places and we can’t wait to release the remaining league locations.”

The event’s track record in Toulouse speaks for itself. Over the past three years, the city has proven to be an outstanding host and Supertri has consistently delivered a positive return on investment for host partners, achieving a four-to-one ROI in 2024. On average, 53 percent of the organiser’s budget has been spent with suppliers based in and around Toulouse, demonstrating the tangible economic benefit to the region.

From a tourism perspective, the event has welcomed an average of 10,000 spectators each year, with 44 percent travelling from outside the city, boosting hotels, restaurants, and other local businesses. After the 2024 Supertri race in the city, 84% of spectators were inspired to do more physical activity and 92% were interested in participating in mass participation events in the future.

Supertri’s commitment to driving social impact in Toulouse has also grown year on year. Professional athletes have visited local schools to introduce triathlon to young people and Supertri has also supported local club Triathlon Toulouse Métropole (TTM), helping to equip them with the tools, training, and resources for sustainable growth.

Last year, Supertri worked with Oncopole, Toulouse’s cancer research and treatment hospital, hosting events such as a community run from Oncopole to the Supertri Fanzone, and hospital visits by French Olympic triathletes. By returning to Toulouse, Supertri looks to continue building strong and lasting connections between elite sport and local healthcare initiatives and delivering awareness campaigns to the wider public.

Young athletes from the Toulouse region have had the chance to take part in swim clinics and Q&A sessions led by Supertri’s professional athletes and triathlon legend, 4-time World Champion Tim Don, gaining both inspiration and technical insight. Community events, including the much-loved “Run with Vince” with French legend Vincent Luis, and a fun-focused bike-run race, have brought locals into the heart of the action. Meanwhile, the lively Fanzone in the Capitole has become a true celebration of sport and community, offering kids’ races, athlete presentations, music, healthy food from local vendors, and a buzzing partner market.

“Toulouse is a city that lives and breathes sport,” added D’hulst. “It has become part of the Supertri story, and we’re proud to be returning once again — this time with something new, exciting, and more accessible than ever.”

Toulouse joins Chicago as one of the races announced for the 2025 Supertri League so far:

  • Chicago – 23rd August
  • Toulouse – 5th October

The remainder of the 2025 Supertri League calendar will be confirmed soon.
