2026 Boston Marathon accepts 73 per cent of applicants

According to the B.A.A., the race saw the second-highest number of applicants in its history with 33,267 runners applying, only behind last year’s total of 36,393. Out of 33,267 applicants, 24,362 runners have been accepted or are in the final stages of verification, leaving more than 8,900 athletes who ran under the standard without a spot.
