  • Lance Armstrong wants USADA report, Andreu and LeMond forbidden from trial - Attorneys for Lance Armstrong have filed a list of potential witnesses and evidence they want a judge to exclude from Armstrong’s upcoming $100 million trial for civil fraud. The list includes two longtime nemeses – Betsy Andreu and Greg LeMond - plus evidence of a car crash in Aspen in late 2014 and a damning report against Armstrong in 2012 by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
  • Bear Kills Alaska Teen During Trail Race - The annual Robert Spurr Memorial Hill Climb ended in tragedy after a junior runner was attacked and killed by what Anchorage police called “a large black bear.” The teen, who officials have not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

  • Report confirms ‘Culture of fear’ existed in British cycling team - An independent report into British Cycling says the sport’s domestic governing body lacked “good governance” and there was a “culture of fear” within the track cycling team. This comes after allegations of sexism and bullying were made about the then-British Cycling technical director Shane Sutton by female track rider Jess Varnish and then by several other cyclists.
  • Former UCI president Hein Verbruggen dead at 75 - Hein Verbruggen, former president of the International Cycling Union (UCI) and one of the most prominent sports administrators of his time, has died. He was 75. The Dutchman, who headed the UCI between 1991 and 2005, was heavily implicated in the doping scandals that rocked elite cycling when he ran the sport.
  • Color Run Sues Competitive Race for Trademark Infringement - Running-event company The Color Run, LLC filed suit last week against rival company My School Color Run, LLC for willful trademark infringement, unfair competition, and false designation of origin. Color Run asserts that My School Color Run’s similar name, branding, events, and apparel violate both federal and state law.
