Unit Nutrition is a revolutionary nutrition brand which has launched a first-to-market sports beverage: a carbohydrate rinse. UNIT RINSE is based on over a decade of extensive research from universities and sports institutes globally, demonstrating conclusive evidence that rinsing a carbohydrate solution in the mouth for 10 seconds improves performance. Carb rinsing has become a prevalent practice amongst Olympians and elite athletes, providing a unique performance boost; one that is instantaneous with no side effects, and if discharged, no calories.
“Unit Nutrition will bring its commitment to innovation to the 10th anniversary of the Columbia Threadneedle Investment Boston Triathlon,” said Michael O’Neil, president of the Boston Triathlon. “Focused on science driven, health conscious products to maximize performance of athletes, they have developed a unique, first to market product that offers athletes of all ages and abilities a competitive edge. We are thrilled to have their support for the Boston Triathlon.”
The benefits of carb-rinsing are achieved by the stimulation of carbohydrate receptors in the mouth. These sensors send signals to the brain, activating areas associated with reward, motivation and motor control. This in turn reduces the athlete’s perception of fatigue and increases power output, resulting in a performance boost.
“We know that our brain is often what is limiting our performance. We formulated UNIT RINSE to maximize the cognitive benefits of carb-rinsing, without including added sugar or any artificial ingredients. It’s an Organic, Non GMO beverage which comes in 3 delicious flavors designed to drink after your 10 second rinse!” said Julia Bechtolsheimer, founder and CEO of Unit Nutrition. “We are so excited to be part of the Boston Triathlon and to share UNIT RINSE with all the athletes competing.”
