Training Tilt Lets Coaches Connect Their Own AI to Their Coaching Platform
July 23, 2026

New integration links Claude and ChatGPT directly to Training Tilt, so coaches control how much AI they use in their coaching - not a platform algorithm making decisions for them.
/ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Training Tilt, the all-in-one coaching platform for endurance sports coaches, today announced the launch of its MCP server, a direct connection between the Training Tilt platform and the AI assistants coaches already use: Claude and ChatGPT.
Coaches can now have full control over how they integrate Artificial Intelligence into their coaching workflows. They now have the power to separate how much AI they use in their admin and how much they use in the actual coaching by giving their own AI tools access to their coaching data.
Coaches can now ask their own AI to review an athlete’s training load, look for insights or anomalies, build a structured interval session, adjust a training calendar, or push workouts to devices such as Garmin, Wahoo, and Zwift, all from a chat window, without copying and pasting between tools. They can also use the tools built into Claude and ChatGPT like projects, skills and scheduled tasks to train their AI and to automate previously manual coaching workflows.
The launch takes a deliberate position in a market moving the opposite direction. While several training platforms are building proprietary AI algorithms that generate and adapt plans automatically, Training Tilt is not putting its own AI between coaches and their athletes. Instead, the MCP server lets coaches plug in the AI they already use, already trust, and already prompt with their own coaching philosophy, and it keeps every decision under the coach’s approval.
“The coaches this is built for are already using Claude or ChatGPT every day,” said Cam Langsford, founder of Training Tilt. “They’ve shaped it around how they coach. What they don’t want is someone else’s algorithm inside their coaching platform, making calls on their athletes in ways they can’t see or control. They want their AI, connected to their data, doing what they tell it. So that’s what we built.”
The integration is built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard introduced by Anthropic in 2024 that allows AI assistants to work directly with external platforms. Training Tilt is among the first endurance coaching platforms to ship a production MCP server.
The MCP server gives an AI assistant the same access as the coach’s own login (their athletes, workout library, and calendars) and nothing more. Reading data is immediate, but any change, from scheduling a session to sending an athlete a message, is shown to the coach for approval before it happens.
Capabilities at launch include:
- Reviewing athlete training summaries, load trends, and planned-versus-completed sessions across any date range and discovering new insights.
- Checking across all athlete conversations to discover anything the coach has missed.
- Building structured workouts, including intervals, targets, and recoveries, from a plain-language description or just describing them with their voice.
- Quickly scheduling, moving, and removing sessions on athlete calendars by text or voice.
- Searching the workout library and saving new sessions as reusable templates
- Sending planned workouts to athlete devices across Garmin, Wahoo, Suunto, Zwift, and Coros
- Drafting athlete notes and workout comments for coach approval before sending
- Using Claude or ChatGPT scheduled jobs to automatically do any of the above on a given schedule. This saves the coach from collating the data themselves, so they can get straight into the coaching instead of the admin.
Outside of day to day coaching the MCP server opens up a lot of creativity for coaches, there are unlimited options for what they can create with their training data; Here are just a few things we’ve seen our coaches do with their AI linked to Training Tilt.
- Creating skills and projects to teach the AI about the coaches own philosophies and techniques so that the AI learns and applies those skills to any tasks automatically.
- Generating leader boards from athlete data to keep their athletes engaged socially
- Creating Strava like year or month in review images or animations for their athletes
- Creating advanced automated workflows with their AI tools functionality like projects, skills, and scheduled jobs so their AI can do all the admin while the coach just does the coaching.
The MCP server is live now for Training Tilt coaches. Setup takes about five minutes: coaches add the connection link to Claude or ChatGPT and sign in with their Training Tilt account. A setup guide and a library of 50 coach-ready prompts are available in the Training Tilt support centre.
“There’s a version of AI in coaching where the platform’s algorithm writes the plans and the coach becomes a spectator. We think that’s backwards,” said Langsford. “Training Tilt is built for coaches. The AI works for the coach, applies the coach’s philosophy, and changes nothing without the coach’s sign-off. We don’t compete with coaches for their athletes, and we won’t compete with them for their judgment either.”
