Event set for May 10 at San Diego’s Bahia Resort Hotel
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Tickets are on sale now for the one-of-a-kind opportunity to mingle with triathlon’s “Big Four” at the 2012 USA Triathlon Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which is scheduled for May 10 at San Diego’s Bahia Resort Hotel.
Triathlon legends Mark Allen, Scott Molina and Scott Tinley, who combined to win nine Ironman World Championship titles over the course of their decorated careers, highlight the fourth class of the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame. Also selected in this year’s class were top age-grouper Ethel Autorino and contributors Bob Babbitt and Sally Edwards.
Allen, Molina and Tinley, along with USA Triathlon Hall of Famer Dave Scott, are commonly referred to as triathlon’s “Big Four.” Scott also will be in attendance at the event, which has sold out in each of the past three years.
The evening is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception aboard the WDE Sternwheeler, which is located at the Bahia Resort Hotel Dock. Dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m., followed by the inductee program at 7:30 p.m. in the Mission Bay Ballroom. This event will kick off the ITU World Triathlon San Diego race weekend.
Individual tickets are currently available for purchase for $69.95 by visiting active.com. Ten-seat corporate and sponsor tables are also available for purchase. Contact USA Triathlon’s Ellis Schieman at 719-955-6019 or Ellis.Schieman@usatriathlon.org for more information or with questions regarding registration.
Tickets will be available until 250-attendee limit is reached or until May 4. Please note that business formal attire is expected for this event.
The USA Triathlon Hall of Fame was founded in 2008, and this year’s class will bring the total number of inductees to 19. Visit usatriathlon.org for more information on the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame.
