40 athletes will be selected to compete during the 2015 race season as IRONMAN Foundation-Newton Running Team Ambassadors Applications open: Monday, February 9, 2015; Applications close: Friday, February 20, 2015
TAMPA, Fla. (February 9, 2015) – The IRONMAN Foundation, in partnership with Newton Running, announced today they are now accepting applications for the 2015 IRONMAN Foundation-Newton Running (IMF-NR) Ambassador Triathlon Team. A total of 40 athletes will be selected to compete this year in IRONMAN® and IRONMAN® 70.3® events across North America as a member of the IMF-NR Ambassador team. Since the team’s inception in 2013, the IMF-NR Ambassador Team has fundraised close to $200,000 that has been distributed back into the race communities.

The IRONMAN Foundation and Newton Running – the Official Footwear of IRONMAN in the U.S. as well as the Official Run Course Sponsor of select IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 races in North America – share a common goal of enhancing the IRONMAN race communities by supporting local charitable initiatives. Members of the IMF-NR Ambassador Team will exemplify what it means to race for the greater good by giving back within IRONMAN race communities.
IMF-NR Ambassador Team members are required to participate in either IRONMAN Texas, IRONMAN Boulder 70.3, or IRONMAN Chattanooga during the 2015 season, as well as volunteer their time prior to race day for philanthropic opportunities at these designated race sites to positively impact the race communities.
Athletes interested in applying for the 2015 IRONMAN Foundation-Newton Running Team can apply at the IMF-NR Ambassador Tri Team website. Applications are open today, Monday, February 9, and will close on Friday, February 20. Team selections will be announced on Friday, February 27.
