Boise, ID – September 24, 2019 – Team MPI (Multisport Performance Institute), the collaborative nationally-based endurance coaching group, has released the schedule for its fall Coaches Retreat in Tempe, Arizona. The day-long seminar will be on November 22, 2019, the Friday of race week at IRONMAN Arizona.
This is the fourth retreat organized by Team MPI, but the first on the West Coast. Certified coaches can earn 7 CEUs from USAT and 7 from USA Cycling. The cost is just $75. Athletes are also invited to attend.
“Coaching can all too often be a solo endeavor, and we all need this refreshing exposure to new ideas and approaches,” explains Mark Sortino, Head Coach and Co-Founder of Team MPI. “Coaches and athletes should come prepared for rich discussion and a very engaging and energizing day led by top coaches.”
The sessions include:
- Pandora’s Box of Coaching the Swim – Mark Sortino
- Relationship of VO2max vs Training Prescription – Dr. Manuel Delgado Gaona
- Building Your Coaching Brand – Mark Turner
- Functional Movement for the Multisport Athlete – Laura Henry
- Three Athletes, Three Methods to IM Coaching – Gregg Edelstein
- Multi-Sport Lifestyle – Increasing Positive / Decreasing Negative Effects on Overall Health – Dr. Amy Stanfield & Allen Stanfield
- What It Takes to Be and Coach a World Champion – Aaron Scheidies
This retreat is a direct outcome from the 2019 winter Team MPI Coaches Retreat held in Chicago, Illinois that drew nearly 40 coaches and highlighted the need for additional retreat opportunities.
