Swim, Bike, Run And Give — Life Time Tri South Beach Set For April 19 To Raise Funds For St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®

Celebrities will join hundreds of other race participants as St. Jude Heroes: Register to race alongside the stars

MIAMI (April 1, 2015) — Among the 2,500 triathletes set to participate in the annual Life Time Tri South Beach event on April 19, several celebrities, including actors James Marsden, Josh Hopkins and Nathalia Ramos, and former NBA star Jason Collins, will raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.

A limited number of individual and relay registrations remain available for the event in both the international-distance course (.93 mile swim, 24.25 mile bike and 6.2 mile run) and classic-distance course (.5 mile swim, 20.7 mile bike and 4 mile run).

Through the partnership with St. Jude, now in its eighth year, individuals, relay teams and corporate teams are encouraged to raise funds for the world-renowned research hospital, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and cures childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The support of these ‘St. Jude Heroes’ helps to ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. Participants who raise $1,000 or more receive significant benefits, such as free race entry, training information, race weekend travel accommodations, pre-and post- race VIP experiences, St. Jude gear and more.

The Life Time Tri South Beach weekend kicks off on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lummus Park with event expo including packet pickup, race course talks, pro-racing tips, gear check and more. Sunday’s event kicks off with the International distance waves starting at 6:50 a.m. with classic distance waves starting at 7:45 a.m. In addition, the annual St. Jude Trot Tot, a 50-yard beach dash for kids ages three to five and a 100-yard dash for kids ages six to nine will take place at 10 a.m. with proceeds also benefitting St. Jude. (Day of registration is available on-site.)

Registration for the Life Time South Beach Tri is $190 (International Individual), $275 (International Relay), $140 (Sprint Individual) and $225 (Sprint Relay) and can be processed at southbeachtriathlon.com.

Life Time Tri South Beach is the second in the 2015 Life Time Tri Series of 13 triathlons scheduled across the country from April through October. It’s also the first of two in the Life Time Tri Miami Challenge, which combines Life Time Tri South Beach and the Mack Cycle Escape to Miami Triathlon presented by Voler in September for the premiere Miami Triathlon experience. Miami Challenge participants will receive a unique finisher medal, Voler wind vest, a set bib number across the races, VIP race experiences and event specific race gear.
