Skechers Peformance Canada Joins As the Official Running Shoe Sponsor Of The 2017 IRONMAN Canadian Series

TAMPA, Fla. (April 5, 2017) — IRONMAN, a Wanda Sports Holding company, in conjunction with Skechers Performance Canada, division of SKECHERS USA, Inc. (NYSE: SKX), announced today its sponsorship as the Official Running Shoe of the 2017 IRONMAN® Canadian Series. This partnership brings the award-winning brand to elite triathletes across Canada competing in some of the most challenging races in the world.

Beginning with Subaru IRONMAN® 70.3® Victoria presented by Jim Pattison Subaru, Skechers Performance Canada will be on site for multiple races in the IRONMAN Canadian Series. Skechers Performance will have a presence in the IRONMAN Village expo and will be featured in race and event signage as well as new media and digital extensions.

Since the launch of the division, Skechers Performance has been a serious player in the elite running space, attracting athletes such as world-class marathoner Meb Keflezighi, who recently raced in his fourth Olympic Games. Skechers Performance also sponsors U.S. elite marathoner Kara Goucher and Canadian professional long-distance triathlete Lionel Sanders, who set the new world record for the fastest IRONMAN time ever.

The IRONMAN Canadian series races sponsored by Skechers Performance Canada include a variety of races. They will feature a 5150 Olympic-distance race where athletes will swim 1.5km, bike 40km and then run for 10km; multiple IRONMAN 70.3 triathlons, consisting of a 1.9km swim, 90km bike, and 21k, run; and the ultimate single-day challenge: IRONMAN triathlons, where athletes will swim for 3.8km, cycle for 180.2km and then run a full marathon.
