One of the Largest U.S.-Based Racing Series Will Serve as State and Regional Qualifiers for Nationals
(DURHAM, North Carolina) — Kinetic Multisports, which produces more than 50 triathlons and other events throughout the season, is pleased to announce that four of its race weekends will host six USA Triathlon State and Regional Championships in 2019.
With spots at the 2019 Age Group National Championships on the line, athletes will race in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia as part of USA Triathlon’s championship races lineup.
May 11-12: Kinetic Triathlon Festival https://kineticmultisports.com/races/kinetic/ in Spotsylvania, Virginia — Long-Course, Olympic, and Sprint races. Serves as the Mideast Region Multisport Festival.
May 19: St. Mary’s Olympic Triathlon https://kineticmultisports.com/races/stmarys/ in St. Mary’s Maryland— 1.5km swim, 25.5-mile bike, 10km run. Serves as the Maryland State Championship, and the top 25 percent or the top five finishers, whichever is greater, will qualify for Age Group Nationals.
May 19: St. Mary’s Sprint Triathlon — 750-meter swim, 13-mile bike, 5km run. Serves as the Maryland High School State Championship.
June 8: Jamestown Olympic Triathlon https://kineticmultisports.com/races/jamestown/ in Williamsburg, Virginia — 1.5-kilometer swim, 40km bike, 10km run. Serves as the Mideast Region Olympic Championship, and the top 35 percent or the top five finishers, whichever is greater, will qualify for Age Group Nationals slated for Aug. 10 in Cleveland, Ohio.
June 16: Tri It Olympic Triathlon https://kineticmultisports.com/races/tri-it/ in Bear, Delaware — 1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run. Serves as the Delaware State Championship, and the top 25 percent or the top five finishers, whichever is greater, will qualify for Age Group Nationals.
June 16: Tri It Sprint Triathlon — 750-meter swim, 10-mile bike, 5km run. Serves as the Delaware High School State Championship.
“We are excited to host these USAT Regional Championship races. Our team loves the sport, and partnering with USAT allows us to introduce it to even more people while creating a great racing opportunity for the competitive triathlete,” Kinetic Multisports owner Greg Hawkins said.
Spots are open at all races, so athletes are encouraged to sign up before the fields are full.
