RunSignup Prepares Events for the Shift from Social Networks to Personal AI Agents

September 28, 2026

Successful testing with Meta’s Muse demonstrates readiness for AI-assisted registration;

MOORESTOWN, NJ (September 28, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — RunSignup, the leading technology solution for U.S. endurance events, announced that its platform is ready to support event registration through personal AI agents. This will help races adapt as the companies behind major social networks expand into AI-powered personal assistance. RunSignup’s recent testing with Meta’s Muse demonstrated how an agent can find an event on RunSignup and navigate registration.

For years, social networks such as Facebook and Instagram have been important marketing arms for races and other events. Organizers use posts, advertising, influencers, and word-of-mouth to introduce their events to new audiences and build loyalty. As the companies behind those networks increasingly focus on personal AI agents, RunSignup sees a new path emerging between discovering an event and signing up.

“Social networks have helped many of our customers attract participants and grow their events,” said Bob Bickel, CEO and Founder of RunSignup. “Now those same companies are investing in personal agents that can help people decide what to do and take action. RunSignup is fully prepared to help our customers with this transition.”

The potential change is significant: a participant could ask an assistant to find a nearby half marathon, evaluate the options, and help complete registration. For event organizers, that makes it increasingly important that their websites and registration systems work well with both people and the agents acting on their behalf.

RunSignup tested that experience with Muse, using test accounts to explore event discovery, registration, and payment. Muse was able to search for events on RunSignup, TicketSignup, and GiveSignup and interact with registration pages through a browser. While the first registration was more manual, subsequent registrations required fewer steps because the agent remembered information provided during the first signup.

RunSignup’s longstanding investment in website accessibility helps make this possible. Clear, accessible registration flows help AI agents understand pages, enter information, and navigate checkout, much as they help people use assistive technologies.

“Customers benefit from the technology investments we have already made,” Bickel said. “Our testing shows that personal agents can work with our existing registration experience. As participant behavior evolves, we will continue helping events reach people and make signing up convenient.”

The company emphasized that AI personal agents are still in their early stages. Initial setup, account access, payment authorization, and participant trust remain important considerations. RunSignup expects usage to grow as agents become easier to use and consumers become more comfortable with them.

Alongside support for external agents, RunSignup plans to enable interactive registration through its own AI Chat product for event websites in early 2027. This will be similar to the “Buy in Chat” checkout flow demoed November 2025, and will provide customers with a similar chat experience while operating within a trusted, secure platform.
