“Run Rock ‘n’ Roll Now”: Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series Announces Content Partnership with Facebook for Distribution of Live Programming

TAMPA, Fla. (November 15, 2019) – The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, a subsidiary of The IRONMAN Group, is excited to announce a new partnership with Facebook which will deliver live coverage of eight Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series® events, beginning this weekend, Nov. 17 with the 2019 Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll® Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon. Live coverage and video on demand programming of the best-in-class running event known for Bringing Fun to the Run™, will air on Facebook Watch via the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series Facebook Page.

Following the successful coverage of the IRONMAN® season on Facebook Watch, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series will deliver live coverage for a social audience exclusively on Facebook, incorporating a pre-race show that will feature in-depth coverage of the weekend of festivities, previews of the athlete field, running clubs and running groups as well as human-interest story features. During each race, viewers can interact through real-time polls, fan engagement and discussion. The broadcasts will also feature user-generated content from spectators on the course.

Coverage will focus on the elite half-marathoners while providing a live look-in at the other race distances and participants. With the first race coverage this weekend, viewers will enjoy an inside look at what makes the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas the biggest and best night running event in the world. From closing down the Las Vegas Strip at night for runners to the on-course Run Through Wedding, Vegas will be showcased through hosted commentary from two-time Olympian runner Alan Culpepper and 34-time marathon finisher and three-time IRONMAN triathlon champion Michael Lovato.

In addition to the live race coverage, a 25-episode short-form weekly show will debut on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series Facebook page beginning in January, providing comprehensive and interactive coverage of the series. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series will also share race recaps for each live event.
