The running festival returns the weekend of 27-28 May with the marathon, half marathon, 5K and 1 mile Fun Run distances. The 2016 race saw record breaking numbers as over 16,000 runners took over the streets of Liverpool across the four distances.
Runners can take advantage of early entry pricing by registering online at RunRocknRoll.com/Liverpool/Register.
“This year, we saw our race grow to outstanding numbers and expect 2017 to bring even more excitement,” said Stacey Campbell, Vice President of Global Events for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “Liverpool is a tremendous destination for runners who love to party, and we’ve added more distances since our inaugural race to encourage runners of all levels to join. With everything from a 1 mile Fun Run to a 42 km marathon, there’s a race for everyone.”
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon is known for putting local bands along the course to entertain runners as they make their way to the finish line. The musically themed race concludes with a finish line festival and headline concert outside of Echo Arena to celebrate the day’s achievements.
The marathon and half marathon will start and finish by the Albert Dock, one of the most visited attractions in the UK and a World Heritage Site. The races features scenic views of Liverpool’s stunning docks, rich architecture, spectacular museums and historic commercial districts.
The award winning 5K kicks off the weekend on Saturday at Albert Dock giving runners the opportunity to register for the Remix Challenge. Those who participate in the 5K and either the marathon or half marathon on Sunday will complete the Challenge and earn a bonus third medal. In addition to other opportunities for limited edition medals, this race has been deemed the “UK’s Blingiest Race.”
