Online registration is now open at

“Most races begin at the dawn’s early light, but Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas is special with the event starting on the Strip as the sun is setting,” said Kevin LaRue, Event Manager of Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas. “The weekend experience provides participants with a world-class running event coupled with exclusive access to some of the top nightlife venues, dining, and live entertainment in Las Vegas.”

Last year the event attracted more than 35,000 participants and featured a new Rock ‘n’ Roll 5k running down the Las Vegas Strip on Saturday night. The 2014 race generated more than $212 million in total economic impact, including more than $110 million in direct visitor spending according to a study conducted by the San Diego State University (SDSU) Sports MBA program.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas welcomed participants from all 50 states and 66 countries, filling 104,449 hotel room nights over event weekend. The SDSU report showed that the event generated more than $10,737,014 million in new tax revenue and other tourism-related fees collected by local municipalities.

The half-marathon alone saw finishers grow from 20,566 in 2013 to 25,168 in 2014, an increase of 4,602 or 22 percent which is the largest for any 13.1-mile event according to Race Results Weekly. Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas is now the third largest half-marathon event in the United States.

The marathon and half-marathon start at 4:30pm, running from the iconic ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign past New York-New York, Paris, Caesars Palace, the Venetian and Treasure Island before finishing at the base of the Mirage volcano. The unique course and nighttime start attracts thousands of participants from around the world to experience the one-of-a-kind event with live bands along the course, a Run-Thru Wedding for couples to elope on the go, the infamous group of Running Elvi and exclusive runner parties throughout the weekend at Vegas’ top nightlife venues.

“I think it is amazing,” said Erica Bowie, who came from Nova Scotia, Canada last year to tour the 13.1-mile course. “You’ve got all the lights. The streets are lined with people. Having music was definitely a boost along the way. An awesome experience.”

“It was everything,” said Dana Caple, who traveled to Las Vegas last year from Wales, UK. “It was people lining the streets. People clapping. The music. The flat surface. And I have never run a race at night. What a treat.”

In 2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas weekend is expanding with a three-day Health & Fitness Expo where all participants go to pick up their race number and t-shirt. The ultimate running resource will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Thursday, November 12 through Saturday, November 14 and will feature more than 100 running and fitness retailers, exhibits and a full series of interactive clinics.
