Las Vegas, NV – The Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon has opened registration for the 2017 race, with marathon weekend returning to Las Vegas November 11-12, 2017. The experience of running on the Las Vegas Strip at night is unlike any other and with athletes from all 50 states and 85 countries represented in 2016, it truly is a global event.

The course takes runners on a one-of-a-kind nighttime running experience by taking them down the closed lanes of Las Vegas Blvd. and past iconic Las Vegas sights such as the iconic ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign, the Fountains of Bellagio, and finishing at the foot of the Mirage volcano.  This not-to-miss running event was recently named by Forbes Travel Guide as one of the Top 12 Best Marathons in the world to travel for.

“Running the Las Vegas Strip at night is something everyone needs to experience in their lifetime,” said Kevin LaRue, Event Marketing Manager. “The combination of a world-class race course under dazzling neon lights with live, non-stop entertainment from start to finish provides a unique opportunity for participants to come together from around the world and celebrate their physical achievements in epic fashion. We invite everyone to join us this year for an iconic and electrifying weekend November 11-12.”

The running will start on Saturday night with the Brooks 5K presented by SLS Las Vegas, followed by Sunday evening hosting the marathon, half marathon and 10K distances. Runners can choose to participate in the “Remix Challenge” and earn a bonus third medal by running in both the 5K on Saturday and any distance on Sunday.

Sunday begins with the marathon & ½ marathon start line festival at the Las Vegas Village featuring Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series headliner. The 2017 headliner has not been announced, but past headliners include Kid Rock, All-American Rejects and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. In addition to the headliner concert, 20+ live bands and DJs spanning all genres will perform along the race courses entertaining and encouraging runners as they make their way to the finish line.

The marathon and ½ marathon start is at 4:30pm, on Las Vegas Blvd. next to Mandalay Bay. The 10K starts at 4:00pm at a start line on Las Vegas Blvd, four miles north of the marathon and ½ marathon start. All three distances finish at the same location, next to the Mirage Volcano on the Strip.
