Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series Launches InTune Program in Savannah Market

New InTune program offers exclusive amenities to Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah runners and spectators including special on-course race day viewing area

San Diego, Calif. – Nov. 2, 2012 – Competitor Group, Inc. (CGI), organizers of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, today launched a new ground breaking online social community which connects runners and the friends and family who plan to cheer them on as they complete a Rock ‘n’ Roll race. The pilot program, InTune, will be available to registered participants of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Marathon & ½ Marathon benefiting the American Cancer Society on Saturday, Nov. 3.

The InTune Community provides runners and supporters opportunities to interact and share experiences before, during, and after the race. Race participants are able to identify their friends and family as their “Rock Entourage” as well as log training miles, complete challenges, and communicate with other participants. Supporters can track their runner’s progress, post messages of encouragement, plan activities for race week, and browse special offers from partners.

“While music and entertainment along the race course is still the main attraction of our events, we realize there are other exciting runner and spectator benefits,” said Bruce Revman, SVP of Marketing for CGI. “InTune not only continues the diversification of our digital portfolio, but further heightens the overall Rock ‘n’ Roll experience.”

Exclusively offered to Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah participants and spectators in its initial stage, InTune members will enjoy special Race Week Upgrades—either earned or purchased. Specifically, spectators will have access to an on-course viewing area with seating, refreshments, and restrooms as well as Rock ‘n’ Roll Runner Tracking. Spectators will also receive a customized InTune Badge showing key partners and “featured” deals and discounts.
