Rock ‘n’ Roll Brooklyn 10K Partners with YP as Presenting Sponsor

Music-themed race draws more than 5,000 runners to Prospect Park on Saturday, Oct. 12

Brooklyn, NY – October 8, 2013 – Competitor Group, Inc. (CGI), the active lifestyle industry’s leading media and event entertainment company, today announced a new partnership with YP, North America’s largest local search, media and advertising company, as the presenting sponsor of the 3rd annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Brooklyn 10K. Taking place on Saturday, Oct. 12, the 6.2-mile race starts and finishes in Prospect Park and features live music and DJ entertainment interspersed along every mile.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Brooklyn 10k presented by YP will wind through scenic Prospect Park beginning at 7:30 a.m. on the east side of Prospect Park Lake on E. Lake Drive near the Lincoln Road Playground and finishing on Center Drive in the Nethermead. The 10k course highlights much of the park’s gorgeous scenery, with colorful fall foliage lining the route. Online registration closes Sunday night, October 6 and participants are encouraged to reserve a spot on the starting line.

YP will provide race results and Finisher’s Certificates at its finish line tent. Participants will be able to celebrate the day’s accomplishments at the Finish Line Concert Presented by YP, where the band Belle Ghoul will perform from 9 am to 10:15 am. Participants and their friends and families are also encouraged to use the free YP app to quickly find necessities like a good breakfast spot, post-run hangout or cheap nearby gas options.

“Brooklyn has an incredible running scene and an abundance of talented musicians and DJs, making it an ideal location for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Brooklyn 10K presented by YP,” said Adam Zocks, Vice-President of Competitor Group, Inc, organizer of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “We’re thrilled to join forces with YP as they will help elevate the race experience for participants of all levels—from the scenic surroundings of Prospect Park to the finish line festival.”

To accommodate runners’ needs, there will be two days of packet pick up—one day in Manhattan and one in day in Brooklyn. On Thursday, Oct. 10 from 12 – 7 pm, packet pickup is available in the South Pavilion of the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan. On Friday, Oct. 11 from 12 – 5 pm, runners can go to Grand Army Plaza in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. All runners must visit one of the packet pick up options to retrieve their race number, swag bag and participant tee.
