CHANHASSEN, MINN. (OCT. 1, 2013) — Life Time – The Healthy Way of Life Company (NYSE: LTM) today unveiled that the 2014 Life Time South Beach Triathlon will be held on April 6, 2014 in South Beach, Miami with registration opening today, October 1, 2014. Life Time South Beach Triathlon is expected to host nearly 3,000 triathletes and will kick off the 2014 Life Time Tri series.
The Life Time South Beach Triathlon is a multi-sport event that attracts athletes, corporate team fundraisers, relay teams and individual age group triathletes. The event offers both an international-distance course and a sprint-distance course and starts with an ocean swim that runs parallel to world-famous South Beach. Athletes will enjoy a relatively flat bike course that crosses over Miami Beach’s famous Causeways with scenic views of the Intracoastal Waterway, downtown Miami and Miami Beach. Lastly, participants will run a fast out and back alongside Miami Beach’s Art Deco District, finishing on the white sands of South Beach.
The 2014 Life Time South Beach Triathlon will also continue its charity partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which provides patient care for children with cancer and other catastrophic pediatric diseases at no cost. Athletes are invited to compete for a cause and raise money on individual basis, create a relay team for the Corporate Challenge, or make a donation by participating in the St. Jude Heroes program. In 2013, the Life Time South Beach Triathlon raised $432,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

About St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Since opening more than 50 years ago, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has changed the way the world treats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. No family ever pays St. Jude for the care their child receives and, for every child treated here, thousands more have been saved worldwide through St. Jude discoveries. The hospital has played a pivotal role in pushing U.S. pediatric cancer survival rates from 20 to 80 percent overall, and is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. It is also a leader in the research and treatment of blood disorders and infectious diseases in children. St. Jude was founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, who believed that no child should die in the dawn of life.
