Free GPS Phone Tracking, Alerts and Cheers
October 2, 2015 – Cincinnati, OH – Race organizers of the Queen Bee Half Marathon, to be held on October 10, 2015, are providing participants and spectators an innovative tracking experience through RaceJoy, a RunSignUp product. RaceJoy is the industry’s leading GPS tracking solution that focuses exclusively on running, cycling and triathlon races. The Queen Bee Half Marathon, under the same race organization as the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, raises funds to support local women focused charities and is the first race in Ohio to offer RaceJoy’s advanced GPS tracking features and cheers as a complimentary service for participants and spectators.
“We are very excited about offering the RaceJoy experience at this year’s Queen Bee Half Marathon. We tried out RaceJoy at the Flying Pig Marathon in May 2015 and had a great response. Our goal is to provide a fun experience that encourages fitness and RaceJoy helps us deliver a race experience that is fun and also engaging with supporting friends and family,” said John Cappella, Co-Director of the Queen Bee Half Marathon.
As a RaceJoy “PhoneTrak Race”, the Queen Bee Half Marathon provides participants and spectators who access the race many interactive race day features. Key features include live phone tracking on an interactive map view, GPS-based progress alerts at every mile along the course with information like pace and estimated finish time, fun motivating audio cheers and NearMe alerts as a participant draws near. Typically, in order to experience the PhoneTrak features, both the participant and spectator must purchase a 99 cents per race upgrade fee.
“Runners and walkers are now expecting races to provide some form of runner tracking and the Queen Bee Half Marathon race organizers have embraced true innovation with RaceJoy and demonstrate a commitment to its participants by providing these features as a complimentary service – an option we just implemented this last Quarter. Its great to see an organization that is focused on promoting the fun of fitness while raising funds for charities dedicated to women take full advantage of innovative services like RaceJoy,” said Bob Bickel, Founder of RunSignUp.
The Queen Bee Half Marathon offers two options for women on race day – a half marathon and four-mile event. Courses wind along the Ohio River and visit some of Cincinnati’s most historic and beautiful neighborhoods before finishing at the Horseshoe Casino for an afternoon post-race party worth the miles.
