Participants Run and Walk for Charity – and Knott’s Famous Boysenberry Pie

Annual Coaster Run Benefiting the Speech and Language Development Center
Don’t let go of those New Year’s Resolutions just yet! Those who run and walk at the annual Coaster Run at Knott’s Berry Farm have a good reason to indulge in pie! On March 10th, participants of the Coaster Run 5K, 10K and Kids Run at Knott’s Berry Farm only have to run or walk 3.1 or 6.2 miles to score a piece of Knott’s famous Boysenberry Pie at the finish line. The annual event benefits the Speech and Language Development Center (SLDC), a special education school in Buena Park.
“We all look forward to The Coaster Run each year. It is a signature event to raise money for the school and everyone gets involved in the fun. The classes have the opportunity to engage in a friendly competition to raise money for their class and win incredible prizes,” said Muff Elstran, spokesperson for SLDC. “Those who donate $100 or more to SLDC are eligible for VIP status on event day – which gives them VIP parking near the start line, exclusive restrooms, and a VIP hospitality area.”
“Each year this event keeps getting better. An exciting development for this year’s event is a new course that winds through the park. Participants can experience the thrill of running – or walking – under the coasters. And the best part is that, as a signature fundraising event for the school, at the end of the day the kids of SLDC are the real winners,” said Race Director Jonathan Pauley of Renegade Racing.
