Mount Rainier Duathlon hosted 8.2k run, 46.5k bike, 6k run event
ENUMCLAW, Wash. — Kimberly Pancoast and Rusty Pruden outdistanced the field to claim overall titles at Sunday’s USA Triathlon Long Course Duathlon National Championship, held in conjunction with the Mount Rainer Duathlon.

Ann Davidson (Portland, Ore.), who won the women’s 50-54 age group, was second overall in 2:28:38, and 30-34 winner Jennifer Santoyo (Seattle, Wash.) finished third in 2:32:42 to round out the national championship podium.
Pruden (Kirkland, Wash.) won the men’s overall title and the 30-34 age group in 2:09:19. Sunday’s Long Course Duathlon National Championship also served as the lone qualifier for Team USA for the 2013 ITU Long Course Duathlon World Championships, which will take place Sept. 8 in Zofingen, Switzerland. The top 18 finishers in each age group (rolling down to 25th place) will qualify for Team USA. U.S. age-groupers earned four medals at 2012 Long Course Duathlon Worlds, which were also held in Zofingen.
Team USA is comprised of the nation’s top multisport athletes who represent the U.S. at each ITU World Championships event. Visit usatriathlon.org for more on Team USA.
