Featherlight, all-season and ultra-versatile tent designed for giant fast-and-light missions
SEATTLE, Wash. (June 4, 2019)— Seattle-based Mountain Safety Research®(MSR®), the high-performance outdoor equipment brand, introduces the compact and ultralight Front Range™ Tarp Shelter, a versatile, spacious and all-season tarp shelter designed for parties of up to four. From alpine missions to spring ski traverses, the Front Range™ Tarp Shelter packs down extremely small, is ultra-simple to set up and is so light that it’s hardly noticeable in your pack.
“The MSR Front Range Tarp Shelter is the epitome of ultralight, simple, and spacious weather protection for adventurers that commit to multi-day alpine missions,” says Terry Breaux, Shelter Category Manager at MSR. “With the Front Range Tarp Shelter, adventurers can focus on the mission at hand and forget about the weight on their backs.”
The frameless and floorless Front Range™ Tarp Shelter is light enough to carry as a solo shelter, dining hall or emergency shelter, making it a great versatile option for any alpine adventure. The steep canopy easily sheds snow and water, and the 5’ 4” peak height allows four to comfortably sleep and then easily gear up the next morning. Finally, the floorless tarp lends itself to a very quick setup using ski or trekking poles, helping save on overall weight (ski straps included for easy assembly; accessory pole sold separately).
The Front Range™ also features MSR’s Xtreme Shield™ waterproof coating, an ultra-durable coating that lasts up to 3x longer than standard waterproof coatings preventing the premature stickiness the competition experiences.
