Join representatives from the City of Chicago, ITU World Triathlon Chicago and Dare2tri for a press conference and demonstration to formally introduce the paratriathlon events of next month’s ITU World Triathlon Series stop. Chicago will be a key city for paratriathletes for the next two years leading to the sport’s debut at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games.
This media event will preview the ITU World Paratriathlon Chicago, presented by Chicago-based paratriathlon club Dare2tri. The elite paratriathlon event will be the first of six events to be contested June 28-29 in the heart of Chicago as part of ITU World Triathlon Chicago, which also will include performances from Olympians and elite triathletes and 4,000 age-group athletes.
Members of Dare2tri will be on hand for a demonstration of their adaptive equipment. Following the demonstration, attendees will be welcome to try the equipment.

WHO: Dare2tri members and Paralympic hopefuls Melissa Stockwell, Hailey Danisewicz, Diana Helt and Israel Antonio, Dare2tri Executive Director Keri Serota and ITU World Triathlon Chicago Managing Director Franzi Petermann will be available to discuss this world-class event and the sport of paratriathlon with the media.
Karen Tamley, Commissioner, Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, City of Chicago, and Deborah Kane, Marketing Director with official event partner Columbia Management, will also be in attendance and on the speaking panel.
