MINNEAPOLIS, March 9, 2017—Ever wondered what it would feel like to become a triathlete? Thanks to the Twin Cities’ largest, premiere triathlon event—Life Time Tri Minneapolis presented by Just Bare Chicken—first timers now have a complimentary program to help them succeed. Sponsored by Endurance House Twin Cities, the First Timers’ Program was designed to alleviate intimidation, build confidence and provide a smooth race experience for new triathletes at the 16th annual event.
“We know that the sport of triathlon can be intimidating,” says Scott “Hootie” Hutmacher, Marketing Manager, Life Time Tri Series. “That’s why we’ve developed this complimentary, first of its kind program. This partnership combines the three influential groups for aspiring triathletes: coaching experts, a local multisport retailer and the actual event. Our collective goal is to ensure these athletes are well prepared, have an incredible race experience, and (most importantly) become triathletes for life.”
Due to popular demand, the First Timers’ Program is available to the first 100 registrants on a first-come, first-served basis only to athletes who will complete their first-ever outdoor triathlon at the Life Time Tri Minneapolis on Saturday, July 8.
The program begins Wednesday, March 22, starting with the first of six educational sessions at Endurance House Twin Cities. Each session will focus on relevant topics, including training plan development, swim and bike tips, required gear, nutritional insights and more. Endurance House will also offer private shopping experiences, community rides and social runs.
Local coaching experts from Life Time Fitness will also attend, providing unique insight into athlete preparation and one-on-one advice. The MPLS Tri Race Staff will also attend, providing a private course talk prior to their race day journey.
First-Timer Program participants also receive myriad of race day benefits, including a private wave start, separate Transition racks, race day coaching support and a dedicated team VIP experience.
