The Midwest’s premier ultra mountain bike race, Lutsen 99er, also offers 39 mile course option and kids race
More than a picturesque bike ride, the Lutsen 99er mountain bike race returns to offer a challenge course and scenic views in Minnesota’s Arrowhead region along Lake Superior on Saturday, June 29, 2013.
Featuring 99 miles of varied terrain, the Lutsen 99er starts at Lutsen Mountain’s Bridge Run and will take participants along the shores of Lake Superior before climbing into the Sawtooth Mountains. Once over the ridgeline, the course will take advantage of the glacially-sculpted terrain and rolling hills of the Boreal Forest, finishing on the old Lutsen Mountain bike trail system.
The event also offers a 39er course and a kids race for children ages five to 13 so the Lutsen 99er is a true family affair.
This year, the Minnesota High School Cycling League is the official charity partner of the Lutsen 99er. The Minnesota High School Cycling League promotes personal development and teamwork through mountain bike racing, and encourages the formation of teams at public and private high schools. Details on supporting the Minnesota High School Cycling League can be found during the registration process.
