More than 3,300 runners participated in the Magellan Development Chicago Spring Half Marathon and 10K on May 19 at the Park at Lakeshore East in downtown Chicago. The race, owned and produced by Life Time – The Healthy Way of Life Company (NYSE: LTM), drew nearly 8,000 spectators to Chicago’s downtown lakefront. In addition to the two adult races, children ages 2-12 also participated in a Junior Dash.
Among the Half Marathon female participants, Krista Lederer took first place in the women’s division at 1:26:10 followed closely by Sarah Deegan at 1:26:11 and Rebecca Herbert at 1:27:37 in third. Matthew Frey came in first among the male participants for the second year in a row at 1:14:50 followed by Anthony Socotch at 1:15:49 and Kevin Deegan at 1:16:32 in third.
Kylen Cieslak went home in first place among female participants in the 10K race with a time of 39:03 followed by Maggie Madden at 43:43 in second and Linda White at 44:11 in third. First place among male participants in the 10K race went to Peter Mone with a time of 33:36 followed closely by Jeff Hojnacki with a time of 36:04 and Cyril Willemin at 36:39.
