Kudos lands in two Fleet Feet Chicago locations
September 23, 2019
Medal-display kit will be available in pop-up shop featuring other marathon products, apparel
CHICAGO, September 23, 2019 – Kudos is pleased to announce a retail partnership with Fleet Feet Chicago, placing Kudos’ patented medal-display kit in the flagship Old Town (1706 N. Wells St.) and South Loop (150 W. Roosevelt Rd.) locations. As part of the collaboration, the Kudos Coaster will be available within The Distance Lab, an innovative marathon retail experience popping up at both stores.
“As long-time Chicago-area runners and customers of Fleet Feet, our team is thrilled to see our product in the stores we’ve been frequenting for years,” said Kudos President and CEO Ryan DeBoer. “With fall marathon season upon us and the holidays soon to follow, the timing of our partnership is perfect as runners look for new, unique ways to celebrate their incredible achievements.”
Kudos’ product, the Kudos Coaster, is a do-it-yourself coaster and kit designed to display race medals. Users place their medal of choice inside the coaster and can switch it out with others at their convenience. More compact and less expensive than wall-mounted frames, the product combines form and function to securely fit most medal shapes and sizes, and can also be used to display race photos or other cherished keepsake items.
In addition to the Kudos Coaster, The Distance Lab will feature marathon merchandise, exclusive Distance Lab apparel and accessories, massage tools, nutrition products and limited-edition footwear.
“For more than two decades, we’ve worked to create a welcoming, inclusive running community in the Chicagoland area,” said Fleet Feet Chicago Product Manager Lyndsey Baum. “We’re fortunate to have great relationships with our vendor partners and, as fellow members of the running community here in Chicago, we’re pleased to welcome Kudos into our stores.”
Fleet Feet Chicago is one of several Kudos retail partnerships that are official or pending around the country. The collaborations represent a continuation of the momentum Kudos generated with its late-2018 product launch, strong e-commerce sales and successful race partnerships with groups including Atlanta Track Club, Big Sur Marathon and Chicago Area Runner’s Association.
The Kudos Coaster was created as a better way to store and feature race medals. Over the last six years, DeBoer developed the product into its current form which includes a clear, removable acrylic top and a polyurethane base providing stability and grip. Colored Tru-Fit inserts allow users to pick a backdrop that complements their medal, and the inserts can be removed to accommodate medals of varying thicknesses.
Kudos, a registered trademark of RLRD, LLC, helps people share, preserve and display their memorable accomplishments with pride. The company approaches old things in new ways by producing inexpensive, quality-built products that combine form and function. For more visit www.kudos2u.com.
