Kids Run the Nation & Fitness Finders Partner to Incentivize Young Runners

Custom award token proceeds to be reinvested into curriculum programming and RRCA’s youth fund

Arlington, VA – The Road Runners Club of America’s Kids Run the Nation® youth running program is pleased to announce its partnership with Fitness Finders®, a leader in providing incentive-based fitness and character-building programs and awards to schools and youth organizations. Together, the RRCA and Fitness Finders have designed a custom award token displaying the Kids Run the Nation logo to incentivize young runners. Proceeds from each sale will be reinvested into curriculum programming and the Kids Run the Nation Fund, a grant making effort that supports local and regional youth running programs across the nation.

The official youth running program of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), Kids Run the Nation offers tools and resources for organizing youth running programs in schools, after-school programs, community centers, homeless shelters and other local venues. In 2007, the RRCA introduced the Kids Run the Nation Fund to assist these organizations in implementing and enhancing new or currently established programs. Kids Run the Nation and Fitness Finders share similar goals, including encouraging kids to fall in love with the sport of running and ultimately growing participation in youth running programs.

“It is exciting to collaborate with an organization like the Road Runners Club of America” says Rich Fairbanks, President and CEO of Fitness Finders. “We relish the opportunity to motivate and reward so many children as they run and become more fit.”

“Kids Run the Nation programs across the country have been offering Toe Tokens® as participation incentives for years, and this new custom award token will help to grow and promote these impactful programs even more,” says Erica Gminski, RRCA Youth Programs Coordinator. “These simple, affordable awards not only encourage participation, but also serve as a good visual reminder of progress and achievement. I would have loved them when I was a kid!”

Complementing the custom Kids Run the Nation award is a logoed Kids Run the Nation Token Tote to organize program awards. Other awards, including Fitness Finders’ signature Toe Tokens, will be available for purchase along with chains and shoelaces to hold each runner’s collection.
