Cambridge, Maryland and Dorchester County to continue to host popular triathlons for an additional five years
TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 27, 2018) – IRONMAN, a Wanda Sports Holdings Company, today announced a five-year extension with Dorchester County and the City of Cambridge to host IRONMAN® Maryland and IRONMAN 70.3® Eagleman in Cambridge, Maryland annually through 2023.

Building on the 22-year history and success of IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman, IRONMAN Maryland was added to the global calendar of events in 2014. Both events tap into of beautiful waters of Choptank River for their swim courses and use Great Marsh Park for their transition areas. Athletes in both races experience a flat and fast bike course that travels through the spectacular Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. While Great Marsh Park also host the exciting finish line for IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman, IRONMAN Maryland athletes enjoy the unique and vibrant finish line at historic Long Wharf.

IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman will host the North American TriClub Championship for the first time on June 9, 2019. The event will also offer 30 qualifying slots to the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice, France.
The 2019 edition of IRONMAN Maryland will take place on September 29 and offer 40 qualifying slots for the 2020 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i.
