CNO Financial Group Title Sponsorship Leads to New Staff Position
The recent announcement of the first title sponsorship of the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon has led to staffing changes at the organization responsible for the event. Swati Gunale has been hired as Strategic Partnerships Manager, a new position created to foster and develop partnerships between non-profits, running clubs and other organizations. In addition, Marketing and Communications Coordinator Rhiannon Johns has been promoted to Marketing and Communications Manager.
Swati Gunale, originally from Indianapolis, comes to the team from a decade in Business Development in publishing at John Wiley & Sons, Inc. As Strategic Partnerships Manager, she will oversee the implementation of the Apex Monumental Challenge, the Run for a Cause program, and running club partnerships, in addition to managing other business development initiatives. She received her B.A. in Sociology from Northwestern University, and has run two marathons – one of which was the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon in 2015.
“We continue to grow and develop new ways of supporting our community, not just as a single event in November, but as a civically engaged organization,” says Blake Boldon, Executive Director, “Our organizational aim is to further develop as an Indianapolis change agent, extending beyond the running community. Hiring Swati will allow us to expand our reach and capabilities with our partners, allowing us to better manage our programs as we strive to provide world class running experiences and educate Indianapolis youth about the benefits of exercise, proper nutrition and healthy living.”
“The partnerships already in place at Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Inc. show dedication to the organizational mission of promoting health, fitness and wellness in the Indianapolis community,” stated Gunale, “I’m excited to not only continue to strengthen these relationships, but to also expand our reach and seek out new opportunities in addition to growing the Apex Monumental Challenge, Run For A Cause, and our running club partnerships.”
Rhiannon Johns has just reached her two-year anniversary working with Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Inc. The change from coordinator to manager reflects Johns’ expanded role corresponding with the additional programs and events undertaken by the organization and the continued focus on growth within the industry. Johns continues to live and train in Indianapolis, pursuing goals as an elite athlete.
The CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon is also seeking additional team members in the form of interns for fall 2016. More information can be found here.
