Around 800 runners expected to “Race Across The Sky” in Leadville, Colo. for 37th annual event
LEADVILLE, Colo., Aug 15, 2019 — On Aug. 17-18, runners will cross the start line at 4 a.m. for the 37th annual Leadville Trail 100 Run, presented by La Sportiva and owned and produced by Life Time. They will compete all day and many into the night against the grueling Colorado terrain across the 100-mile out-and-back course that offers world class mountain views as the ultimate reward for testing each runner’s limits. Athletes will have 30 hours to complete the race, in which altitude plays a key role as both a challenge and attraction for those wishing to test their endurance across elevations ranging from 9,200 to 12,600 feet.
“We are excited to welcome everyone to Leadville, whether it be for the first time or the 36th,” said Ken Chlouber, Founder of the Leadville Race Series. “To those who are new, we say welcome. To those returning, we say welcome home.”
