GFNY Bali hosted riders from 28 countries for a tropical sightseeing race showcasing the best of Bali

Indonesians defeat German and Swiss
NEW YORK CITY, February 28, 2019 – The second edition of GFNY Bali was a resounding success with a record number of participants from 28 countries last Sunday, February 24.
Held on closed and moderated traffic roads, managed by almost 1000 Balinese police officers, the island of a thousand temples hosted a tropical and exciting event. A once-in a lifetime must-do for any endurance athlete, the event featured almost 1500 riders from 28 nations.
The race was a tropical challenge through beautiful Balinese landscapes and coastal vistas with a breathtaking climb to the crater rim of volcano Gunung Batur.
Host hotel, Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort provided the perfect backdrop for post-race relaxation after conquering the long competitive route of 134km. The medium route was 90km.
In the men’s race Muhammad (IND) took home the win by 5 minutes from Germany’s Michael Athens (3:48:36). Rounding out the podium was Indonesia’s Juwanto Reza in 3:56:25.
Della Olivia Silviana made it a double Indonesian victory by taking the women’s race in 4:37:41. Switzerland’s Sandra Gurtner was second in 4:40:23 and Nina Puspa Wardhani (IND) rounded out the podium in 4:52:01.

Riders get to BE A PRO FOR A DAY by competing against others, themselves and the clock in a personal endurance challenge.
At all GFNY events, riders have the chance to qualify for the elite racer corral at the GFNY World Championship in NYC by placing in the top 10% (20% at regional championships) of their age group.
Campagnolo GFNY World Championship NYC
The 9th annual Campagnolo GFNY World Championship New York will be held on May 19, 2019. The race features the world’s most international peloton with riders from over 90 countries. Athletes take on a challenging 100-mile route from NYC to Bear Mountain to Fort Lee to compete against each other, the clock and themselves in a personal endurance challenge.
