Final Places Remain for Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and River Ness 10K as Registrations Surge to Record High

Inverness, Scotland (June 26, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ –  Hopeful participants are being urged to act fast as only a handful of charity places remain for the world-renowned Baxters Loch Ness Marathon. General entries sold out in record time for the event’s 24th edition – hitting capacity a staggering three months quicker than the previous record. As a result, securing one of these remaining charity spots is now the only available pathway to stand on the start line for the full 26.2-mile distance on Sunday 27th September, 2026

While the marathon distance remains open exclusively to those running for a cause, the entire Festival of Running is experiencing unprecedented momentum across the board. Alongside the record-breaking pace of general entry sales for the marathon, demand for the Baxters River Ness 10K has also skyrocketed, with registrations already 85% full. The Baxters River Ness 5K is seeing a similar surge in standalone popularity, outperforming last year’s registration numbers. Given this phenomenal interest across all distances, organisers are warning that the remaining spots are likely to be taken significantly earlier than usual.
