MIAMI — The 305 Half Marathon, formerly known as 13.1 Miami Beach, one of Life Time’s premier athletic events, will take place on March 3, bringing visitors to South Florida from all over the world who are attracted to the fresh and vibrant Miami culture.
Known for its fast and coastal course, the race is referred to as the ultimate Miami experience. More than 2,000 runners are expected to participate in the half marathon (13.1 miles) with an additional 700 predicted to take part in the 5K (3.1 miles). This year, Life Time teamed up with Athlinks to make race day even more exciting by offering an all-new timed challenge; a 400-meter dash race within the half marathon. Fastest times for males and females in each age group will earn a special prize.
The race begins and finishes on the same block as Pitbull’s new restaurant ilov305 for runners who wish to stop by the tropical style Latin steakhouse for authentic cuisine, a celebratory daiquiri or one of their 50 different types of mojitos.
Participants of the 305 Half Marathon have a unique ability to combine their race medals from 2018, 2019 and 2020 to create one large 305 emblem. This year, many runners who earned the ‘3’ medal when they crossed the finish line in 2018 are returning to add the ‘0’ to their 305 medal and ribbon set and can complete the trio by earning the ‘5’ in year 2020. Not to worry, runners who are only participating in the 2019 event still receive the ‘0’ medal as a badge of honor, which features a double-sided design.
This year’s event will showcase the Miami flair with DJ sets, pacers running with speakers and other entertainment as well as enhanced post-race finish festival amenities. Participants will also include fitness influencers from the annual Stay Fit 305 “25 Miami Fitness Trainers You Need to Follow” list and Bachelorette Season 13 winner, Bryan Abasalo aka Dr. Abs.
