ENVE Introduces Melee v2: Lighter, Faster, No Compromise
September 10, 2026

Second-generation Melee combines lower weight and improved aerodynamics in a purpose-built modern race bike
OGDEN, Utah (September 10, 2026) /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ — ENVE today introduced Melee v2, a completely refined version of its road race platform designed to deliver both lightweight performance and aerodynamic speed without compromising the responsive ride characteristics of the original platform. First introduced in 2022 as ENVE’s first production road bike, the Melee established a versatile foundation for modern road racing. The second-generation Melee builds on that platform with a more focused objective: reduce weight, improve aerodynamics and create a race bike capable of competing at the highest level.
The new frame has 7.5 percent less total surface area than the previous generation, with refinements including a newly shaped headtube, smaller headset bearings, an all-new lighter and more aerodynamic seatpost, BSA bottom bracket and UDH. Tire clearance has been refined from 35mm to 33mm, maintaining the volume required for modern road racing while helping further reduce weight and drag. In its Ultralight Black finish, a size 56 Melee v2 frame comes in below 800 grams, while a complete size 56 bike can reach the UCI minimum weight of 6.8 kilograms with a SRAM RED or equivalent build.
The Melee v2 is also ENVE’s first ground-up aero bicycle developed using the company’s evolved Real-World Fast protocol. Development took place at the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS wind tunnel in Silverstone, UK, in partnership with aerodynamicist Simon Smart. Rather than developing the frame in isolation, ENVE tested with a real rider aboard the bike, along with bottles, cages and wheels, accounting for how the rider’s body affects airflow across the entire system. Compared with the previous generation, ENVE measured a total aerodynamic improvement of 17 watts, including 11.4 watts from the frame, fork and seatpost, 3 watts from the new SES Aero Road Bar and bar tape, and 2.6 watts from the new SES Aero Bottle Cages and bottles.
Developed alongside the Melee v2, the second-generation SES Aero Road Bar features a new aerodynamically shaped drop designed to reduce drag, with optional shaped pads that further increase the cross section of the drops while helping damp vibration. ENVE also developed a new 1.2mm Aero Race Tape for three-quarter wrapping of aero road bars, reducing the amount of material exposed to the wind. New SES Aero Bottle Cages were similarly developed as part of the complete system, using standard round bottles while reducing the aerodynamic losses that come from adding hydration to the bike.
The Melee v2’s geometry has also been refined for racing, with sizes 56 through 60 receiving an 11mm total reduction in front-end stack through changes to the frame and handlebar, while five fork rakes across seven frame sizes are used to maintain consistent handling throughout the range. The new Melee v2 is available through ENVE’s Spec’d for Speed program, allowing riders and dealers to configure complete bikes with SRAM RED or Force AXS drivetrains, ENVE SES wheels and ENVE cockpit options from the outset.
With the second-generation Melee, ENVE has taken the foundation of its original road platform and pushed it toward a singular purpose: a lighter, faster and more complete modern race bike. Find out more at www.enve.com
