Eventbrite adds Running USA Board Member Mike Coleman to its team to expand endurance business
Eventbrite, the global ticketing and events marketplace, announced it appointed Mike Coleman, a Running USA board member with more than 20 years of experience in the sports and endurance industry, as Head of Acquisition, Endurance Sports. Coleman comes to Eventbrite from The Active Network, where he formerly served as Director of Strategic Accounts and Business Development. In his new role at Eventbrite, Coleman will lead the Eventbrite endurance team with a focus on support for the endurance sports industry.
Eventbrite’s presence in the endurance sports industry is growing tremendously, with road races, marathons, obstacle races, and more, turning to Eventbrite for its innovative registration and event management tools. Incorporating new technology solutions for race directors is a priority for Eventbrite, adding race timer integration with new app, Timer Bistro, in 2014.
“Eventbrite’s increased technological investment in the endurance space, as well as its methodical and strategic look into events, is being noticed throughout the industry,” said Mike Coleman, Eventbrite’s newly-appointed Head of Acquisition, Endurance Sports. “It’s clear the company is fiercely committed to addressing the complex needs of race directors and I’m excited to join and lead this team as we focus on making an even bigger impact in the endurance sports industry.”
Since 2006, Eventbrite has processed over 200 million tickets and registrations worldwide, totaling nearly $3 billion in gross ticket sales in 187 countries. The online event ticketing service makes it easy for everyone to discover events, and to share the events they are attending with the people they know. In this way, Eventbrite brings communities together by encouraging people to connect through live experiences. Eventbrite’s investors include Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital, T. Rowe Price, DAG Ventures, and Tenaya Capital. Learn more at www.eventbrite.com
